Kabatch Gilbert's birthday celeb

Upon learning that Kabatch Gilbert has no budget to celebrate his birthday (since he's enrolled for the thesis writing phase of his MBA degree), our Kabatch "surprised" him with a potluck party at the residence of Kabatch Vickee and Julio Firmalino. The Kabatch brought, rice, lechon, pansit, and other ulam. Ebing Abueva-Olarte sent a choco-moist birthday cake.

Kabatch Jing Alvarado featured in The Banker magazine

Kabatch Jose "Jing" Alvarado Jr, UCPB-Gensan manager, is featured on the cover of The Banker, the official magazine of the City Bankers Association of Gensan (CBAGS). Jing is at the rightmost of the group picture.

Kabatch Ebing Abueva-Olarte's birthday bash in absentia

Even if Kabatch Ebing Abueva-Olarte celebrated her birthday abroad on October 28, her kabatch her a birthday bash in her name here in Gensan. How's that for a global celebration, huh. :)

Plaza Heneral Santos

Each one of us probably has a Plaza story. The Plaza was our version of malling - where we can relax, eat banana cue, watch people, savor the afternoon sea breeze, snack on peanuts (fried and sinanlag), wait for Dagirls to come out of their school gate or get a glimpse of Daboys sitting on the carabao grass, share a laugh or two . . . Yes, what stories we could tell.

The 4.8 hectare plaza is now called Plaza Heneral Santos after undergoing a P34 million makeover. The Generals are rediscovering the Plaza once again as they make it a venue for pasyalan, walking and jogging, and of course, dating.

Our Lady of Peace & Good Voyage (OLPGV)

For many of our Kabatch, the last time they entered Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (OLPGV) was our graduation day in March 1973. Since then, OLPGV was renovated and extended to accommodate the increasing number of the flock. Here are some pictures for you to revisit OLPGV.
