The Plaza was our version of malling - where we can relax, eat banana cue, watch people, savor the afternoon sea breeze, snack on peanuts (fried and sinanlag), wait for Dagirls to come out of their school gate or get a glimpse of Daboys sitting on the carabao grass, share a laugh or two . . . Yes, what stories we could tell.
The 4.8 hectare plaza is now called Plaza Heneral Santos after undergoing a P34 million makeover. The Generals are rediscovering the Plaza once again as they make it a venue for pasyalan, walking and jogging, and of course, dating.
