On September 4, the Gensan-based Batch '73 had a potluck dinner meeting as part of the planning session for next year's reunion at Kabatch Vir and Sonia Lauzon's residence.
Discussed the planning session was the inclusion of dates before December 2010. The group is looking at the last week of November 2010 for a probable date option for our reunion.
Our Kabatch also passed the hat to start a mortuary fund aimed at providing any Kabatch who may be needing help in case of death in their family. Also discussed was the provision of livelihood training and/or opportunities for our less-fortunate Kabatch. The group is looking into linkages for this.
Kabatch Bebot Sanchez is asking for our prayers as we remember the birthdays of our departed Kabatch Juanito Omen Go (Sept. 19) and Mario Macaraeg (Sept. 30).
Upcoming Kabatch-birthday celebrants: Evelyn Nene Duran (Sept. 20) and Vivencio Toto Soguilon (Sept. 29)
ANNOUNCEMENT!
Due to time constraints, our Batch Core Group has decided to postpone our homecoming this year to 2013, our 40th. Please bear with us. Thanks, kabatch! :)
Please leave a message :)

Palanggang unang apo ni Ebing Abueva-Olarte
Before her first apo was born, Evelyn Ebing Abueva-Olarte was having mixed feelings about being a first-time lola. This is clearly shown in the first photo below. After a few days, Ebing is now a doting lola to Eliana Solon Olarte.
Hmmm, unsaon man ni paggunit sa akong apo oi. Handle with care man gyud ni.

Get-together at Sarangani Highlands for Shirley Villamor-Gervacio
Our honorary Kabatch Shirley Villamor-Gervacio attended the San Pedro College nursing alumni homecoming in Davao City after which she made a special sidetrip to Gensan on to host a get-together with her Dagirls Kabatch at Sarangani Highlands on August 23. The get-together started with a sumptuous dinner while Dagirls updated each other. The dinner featured grilled tuna belly and panga, crispy tuna buntot, crispy pata, pomelo shrimps, and veggies. Shirley regaled Dagirls with her life in the USA. Later that night, Dagirls had a grand fun time taking souvenir shots at the lovely landscaped grounds of Sarangani Highlands.
Thanks to Ebing Olarte for letting us use her car and to her son, Dowie for driving us to and from the venue. Thanks also to Vir and Sonia Lauzon for the ride. :)
